Bjorn & The Flock

Bluestem Farm is located in the beautiful Missouri Ozarks. The farm is secluded in the hills and the hardwood timber, walnut, hickory and many varieties of oak. Dogwood and Serviceberry sparkle the timber in the spring.

Walt and Wanda carved the farm from the timber by clearing the land carefully to create pasture. Grass was planted, barns were built, original fences were repaired, new ones were built making it a perfect location for the Rambouillet sheep.

The farm also is home to Great Pyrenees guard dogs to protect the sheep. Bluestem Great Pyrenees were among the first ones in Missouri and were raised on the farm for 20 years. Currently, they are not raising them. The sheep would not exist in the hills without the dogs because of a huge coyote population. Not one sheep has been lost to predators.
